UK Hypnosis Convention

November 10 – 12, 2023, Live in London, England

Closing Keynote Address

“It is a real pleasure to announce that as of this year, we will have a closing keynote presentation at the end of Sunday of the convention. The aim is to welcome someone who encapsulates the spirit of the UK Hypnosis Convention, who has a lot of experience of the event, understands our ethos, reflects our values and supports our vision. This will be a 30 minute presentation to reflect upon the event, to promote the field and for the presenter to stamp some of their own thoughts and personality upon the closing presentation too.
I’m delighted to share today, that this year, our closing keynote will be delivered by Fredric Mau. We are thrilled he has accepted our invitation. Fredric has been a regular at the convention, is very popular as a presenter and is someone we have felt has played an integral part in the development of the UK Hypnosis Convention.”

Superhero Regression: The Active Wiser You

Dr. Mau will present a one hour workshop. Regression is a fantastic way to address trauma, but does it have to be problem-focused? In this fun, substantive, interactive workshop Dr. Mau will demonstrate a regression process and will explore fresh solution-focused approaches to a tried-and-true hypnotic technique. Be prepared to open your eyes to new ways to engage your client’s active superhero creativity and self-healing.

Derren Brown will be speaking just before Dr. Mau’s closing keynote address at the conference. He is an English mentalist, illusionist, painter, and author. Brown is well know from his television shows in the UK and has won two Laurence Olivier Awards for Best Entertainment. He has performed on Broadway. Brown is a bestselling author of several books, including Happy: Why More or Less Everything is Absolutely Fine.
Brown often begins live performances by stating that his results are achieved through “magic, suggestion, psychology, misdirection, and showmanship,” and his acts frequently expose the methods of those who do claim supernatural powers, such as faith healers and mediums.
In 2103 Brown appeared on the show Sherlock, providing one of the explanations of how Benedict Cumberbatch’s Holmes had seemingly returned from the dead.

The Use of Hypnosis as a Therapeutic Tool

Dr. Mau will present at the SC Psychological Association Annual Conference –

Hypnosis is the oldest Western conceptualization of psychotherapy, and is recognized as a standard of care process. Division 30 of the APA is devoted to exchanging scientific information, advancing appropriate teaching and research, and developing high standards for the practice of hypnotherapy. Neuroimaging has opened up our understanding of how dissociative therapeutic processes function, and provides us with a model for aligning these processes with many DSM-5-TR diagnoses. Hypnosis offers a methodology to change client experience and eliminate many symptoms, rather than simply managing these symptoms. Dr. Mau will present an overview of the nature of hypnosis and its uses as in psychotherapy.

Registration details to be announced.
