Hypnosis involves a natural process of relaxation. While hypnosis is not done in a state of true deep sleep, the relaxing nature of the process makes it excellent for addressing sleep issues including having difficulty falling or staying asleep, night eating, night terrors or nightmares. Hypnotic processes are also good for developing the skill of lucid dreaming.
Since 1995 the National Institute of Health has strongly recommended hypnosis to treat insomnia (“Integration,” 1995).
